Escribir
Write a short paragraph about how you have helped in the community. You must tell about five different activities you have done (real or imaginary). You must write in the past (preterite) tense. You will use your writing as part of your speaking section and interview someone about their jobs. You will then write a short paragraph about what volunteer work they have done as well.
Hablar
Using the information you wrote in the 'escribir' section, you will have a conversation with someone else about what you do in the community. You will role play an interview with another student. One of you will be the reporter interviewing the other person. The reporter will begin the interview by asking what you did to help in the community. You must explain what you didand for whom. Example:Yo compré comida para los pobres.
The reporter will confirm what you said by repeating what you said, replacing the indirect object (who you did it for) with a pronoun and restating the sentence in the ‘tú’ form. Example: Ahh..¿tú les compraste comida?
You will then confirm the statement, saying what you first said, but you will replace both the direct and the indirect object pronouns using the verb (in the ‘yo’ form). Example Sí, yo se la compré.
You must ask your partner about three things he or she did.
Use a chart with the following columns to help keep track of what you hear.
